It has always puzzled me how certain songs can relate to certain points in your life and that whenever you hear that song the emotion comes back, its also amazing how ever rubbish or down you are feeling a song can bring a smile to your face.
I have loved Jimmy Eat World for years, and will continue to love them. I go through fazes of liking a band or style or music but Jimmy will always be there. Even if I haven't heard that song for a while I will continue to blast the lyrics out.
Back in 2007 I had the privilege to say that I saw Jimmy Eat World play twice in one day at Reading Festival. Rather than playing the same set twice, Jimmy played a very public friendly set on the main stage and a very album fan friendly set on the Lock up stage.
I saw them at Brixton in 2008 and when I heard Jimmy were returning to the UK I snapped up tickets to see them in Bristol and Brixton and to see them twice in the space of two days was incredible.
Jimmy Eat World, for me keep finding those songs that relate to my life. Its pretty much a given that "The Middle" will always cheer me up whenever I am down, its such a feel good song.
"Hey, don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head
You feel left out or
Looked down on"
It just speaks truth and especially to anyone who does feel left out and just need that reminder that everything will be ok and you are not alone.
Just try your best
Try everything you can
And don't you worry
What they tell themselves
When you're away
There are so many Jimmy songs that mean something to me. Amazing the first time I played Disintegration, it summed up how I felt about a failing relationship, and the entire Bleed American album took a whole new meaning when my long term relationship ended, despite having listened to the album hundreds of times before.
Music is my life and my feelings can be completely summed up in the music I play. Whether its being Air or Rammstien, but Jimmy Eat World can save any situation =)

The Bird is the word!!!!!!
A-well-a everybody's heard about the bird.....
Last year Rage Against the Machine was Christmas number 1 beating Xfactor superbly with a massive campaign. Of course this year people have jumped on the "lets beat xfactor" band wagon. Various songs have been chosen. My favourite is The Trashmen's Surfin Bird, recently made re-famous in a family guy episode.
So spare 79p and help prevent Xfactor getting xmas no 1.!!!!

Follow the campaign on facebook
Two other campaigns I have noticed are Blink 182 and Reubens Christmas songs, so please down them as well as they are fun xmas songs =)
Blink 182 - I wont be home for christmas

Rebuen =Christmas is Awesome

I highly doubt any of them will go to number one, there is a major lack of press coverage but will be good to see the songs in the chart
