Survivor Series 2008

Sunday was the 22nd annual survivor series and it lived up to expectation and more.

Sunday started off with news that Jeff Hardy was hospitalised at 3am in the morning. No one was sure what had happend or if Jeff would be able to compete in the triple threat match.

With very little information by the start of Survivor series would jeff be able to compete?

Team HBK (Shawn Michaels, Crime Tyme, Rey and the great Khali) vs Team JBL (JBL, The Miz, John Morrison, Kane and MVP)

After a fantastic performance by John Morrison, TEAM HBK consiting of HBK, Rey and The Great Khalie were the sole survivors of the match.

It was weird i dont think Khali was involved in this match at all? But JOhn morrison prooved once again that he is the future of the WWE. Please put him in a rivalry with Shawn Michaels, im sure that they will tear the roof off.

Divas Elimination Match
Could be bothered to watch it but beth phoniex won the match

Big Show Vs Undertaker - Casket Match
Considering this was a big man match, the match was really good, i throughly enjoyed it. The end of the match went like this. BIg show knocked taker down, he went over the the casket and tried (unsuccessfully..) to break the casket. Big show then walked to the titan tron where a wall of fire appeared, taker chased big show and they continued to battle, meanwhile a new casket was brought to the stage. Undertake whipped show into the standing casket to win the match.

Normally big man matches are boring but show and taker showed that they can have a good match

Team Orton (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, William Regal, Mark Henry and Shelton Bengamin) Vs. Team Snoretista (Batista, Matt Hardy, Cm Punk, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth)

Regal got eliminated so quickly i dont even remeber him being eliminated! Batista went 4 - 1 down and looked unlikely to get anywhere but its batista all he is good for is squashing people. After eliminating, Shelton and Mark Henry, cody rhodes was next. Whilst setting up Cody for a batista bomb, the oppurtunist randy orton snuck in a tag. Batista then covered Rhodes, but didnt realise that Randy orton was behind him, and out of no where the R.K.O came, 1. 2. 3. Randy orton beats batista.

Its looks likely that Randy will face batista, they will prob save it for royal rumble or even wrestlemania as they have never faved before (like batista, cena which was saved for summerslam). Randy will make it a great match and will prob carry snortista all the way lol!

Triple Threat for the WWE Championship HHH, Kozlov Jeff Hardy

Will Jeff Hardy compeat? HHH and Kozlov enter the ring. The ring announcer announces that its between HHH and Kozlov, the match begins. Kozlov shows he excellent amatuer background by excuting simple wrestling moves and holds which doesnt please the crowd, BORING BORING BORING.....

After 10 minutes of relative bordem, Vickie Guerrero comes out.... and announces that this is going to be a triple threat match and that he is here!!!!!!!

..............On this day... i see clearly............

Its not Jeff Hardy but its EDGE!!!!!! hes back and runs to the ring and spears HHH and Kozlov. He pins HHH, when Jeff Hardy runs to the ring and attacks Edge!!! Jeff goes to get a chair and misses Edge but hits HHH instead, Jeff lays out Kozlov with a chair when Edge spears Jeff hardy. Edge covers HHH 1....2.....3.... the crowd go crazy, we have a new WWE CHAMPION in the name of EDGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an ending to a match (well it needed it TBH) im happy that Edge is back and is champion. Its sooo nice not having HHH with the belt, he doesnt need it, people like Edge and Jeff Hardy need the title.

It becomes clear that Edge attacked Jeff hardy in the hotel, which sets them up for a feud, hopefully over the WWE championshiop, which will be fantastic!

But HHH and Kozlov will want a chance at the title, most likely at Armageddon it will be a fatal four way for the title. Which Edge should retain, it would be nice for HHH to get a title shot against Edge at the Royal Rumble for Edge to retain. Jeff then wins the royal rumble and faces Edge at wrestlemania. WWE needs to do this, they cant rely on HHH, or HBK or taker or Cena to headline wrestlemania, Edge did a fantastic job against Taker last year, Edge vs Jeff will sell, it will be fantastic match and its new people at the top which we havent seen before (well not since the tag team days of 2000)

World Championship Chris Jericho vs John Cena

John cena returns in his home town and faces the champion. acdemic really isnt it? i couldnt be bothered to watch this but Cena wins and the Champ is here... yay.... im excited... tho we havent seen Cena as champ for over a year so hopefully it wont be snoresville over again.

Jericho is going to face Cena for the title at armageddon, orton will get a shot soon same with batista, but who else, Surely CM Punk deserves another chance (but i doubt it as the writers dont like him as a champ) we will see what happens


Overal it was a good survivor series, most of the matches were enjoyable, the WWE isnt as good as it was, and the only way to solve that is to push new stars, which the WWE has in Morrison, Edge and the Hardy's.

I give Survivor Series 6.5/10
